#Sneaktify: A Torrent of Creativity in the South

A couple of months ago, SM South Luzon launched its #Sneaktify Art contest. It is basically a shoe design competition wherein people, especially the youth, can showcase their creativity through art– with sneakers as their canvas.

Last July 22, I was invited by SM Dasmariñas to judge the final leg of their series of events. I braved the habagat (South-west monsoon) to be overwhelmed by a torrent of creativity. There were four categories: Cutie Cartoons, Futurology, Crazy Pattern, or Glittery Fashion.

The event started with a fashion show that showcased SM Youth, SM Kids, Mango, and Folded & Hung’s newest collections. All pairs of shoes that made it to the finals were modeled on the runway. It was really a challenge to judge the event since all of the designs were fun and exciting.

Overall, the event left me happy! It’s refreshing to see SM encourage the youth to unleash their inner creativity.
